In 1956, the former Jinan Automobile Manufacturing Plant of China National Heavy Duty Truck Group Co., Ltd. was established.
In 1960, Jinan Automobile Manufacturing Plant produced China’s first heavy-duty truck, the Yellow River Series JN150, equivalent to 14 tons of total vehicle mass.
On May 4, 1960, when Chairman Mao Zedong visited Jinan, he visited the Yellow River JN150 prototype at the Pearl Springs Exhibition;
On January 11, 1966, Chairman Zhu De inspected the Jinan Automobile Manufacturing Plant and wrote the word “Yellow River” for the Yellow River brand car. In the late 1960s, the Yellow River JN150 model began to enter the international market.
In 1984, Jinan Automobile Manufacturing Plant merged with other Chinese manufacturers of complete vehicles, engines and components to form a joint venture of the heavy-duty automobile industry. In 1990, it formed a China Heavy Duty Truck Group with several related business entities.
In 1984, the heavy-duty automobile industry joint venture company introduced the complete vehicle technology from the Austrian Steyr company and jointly produced the “Steyr” series of heavy-duty vehicles in China. Jiqi is one of the main project units. In the process of accelerating digestion and absorption of the “Steyr” technology, Jiqi has used the advanced technology of Steyr to optimize the second generation of the Yellow River, and has accumulated a lot of experience in the serialization and generalization of Steyr products and Yellow River products. Through the introduction of the world’s advanced technological achievements and production equipment, the production capacity, production scale, production process, and technical level of the products have all reached a big step.
On December 28, 2000, with the agreement of the four prime ministers and deputy prime ministers of the Ministry of Justice, Li Lanqing, Wu Bangguo and ***, the “Compilation of the Separate Bankruptcy Plan for the Separation of Shandong Heavy Truck Groups in Shandong” was formally approved.
On January 18, 2001, China National Heavy Duty Truck Group Co., Ltd. was formally announced in Jinan (referred to as China National Heavy Duty Truck). Ma Chunji proudly expressed to all the guests: China National Heavy Duty Truck Group will redouble its efforts to achieve the goal of “One Year’s Balance, Two Years of Profit, Three Years of Development”, and shoulder the historical responsibility to return the society and users.
On December 18, 2003, China Securities Regulatory Commission officially approved China National Heavy Duty Truck Group to reorganize Shandong Xiaoya Electric Appliances Co., Ltd., and China National Heavy Duty Truck Group began to enter the capital market.
On February 12, 2004, approved by Shenzhen Stock Exchange, Shandong Xiaoya Electric Co., Ltd. was changed to “China Heavy Duty Truck Group Jinan Truck Co., Ltd.”, referred to as “Xiaoya Electric” to “China Heavy Duty Truck”.
On October 28, 2004, the HOWO7 series heavy truck, which represents the most advanced level of domestic heavy-duty vehicles, was launched at China National Heavy Duty Truck. This marks that China’s heavy-duty vehicle technology has begun to be in line with the advanced technology of international heavy-duty vehicles.
On April 18, 2006, China National Heavy Duty Truck Group Jinan Power Co., Ltd. was established in Jinan. The production line of heavy-duty vehicles with international advanced level was officially put into operation.
In 2007, China National Heavy Duty Truck Group produced and sold over 100,000 heavy-duty vehicles, ranking first in the domestic industry. Its production and sales scale has entered the ranks of the world’s top five heavy-duty truck manufacturers. The driving force for the heavy-duty truck industry is more obvious, and the promotion of China’s manufacturing industry is even more effective. Strong, and the cooperation space with partners is more extensive.
On November 28, 2007, China National Heavy Duty Truck Group was listed on the main board of Hong Kong in the form of red chips. The listed company was named China National Heavy Duty Truck (Hong Kong) Co., Ltd., stock code 3808.
